1981 SERIES III V8 ''STAGE ONE'' RHD 3 DOOR TRUCK CAB!!
Wow. Yes, it is an actual STAGE ONE V8, 3-door, RHD fitted with a truck cab and the super rare highly desirable Ifor Williams agricultural top. This is a very original, super solid, great running Land Rover, that is just what you want if you have some wooly sheep that need to get to the market very quickly. Super straight body panels, good chassis and bulkhead. For those not familiar with this strange, rare Rover, it was called the 'Stage One' because it was the first stage of the development of what would become the Defender. As such, it shares quite a bit with the original Range Rover Classic: 3.5 liter V8 carbureted engine, center differential, and 4 speed LT95 gearbox. It retains the Series III leaf springs, but has the distinctive pushed out radiator panel. Interior is easily recognizable as Series III, with the exception of the lack of a yellow or red knob- the Stage One has the Range Rover system of air actuated high and low range, and full time 4WD. There is also a small indicator lamp on the dash to remind you that diff. lock is engaged. Most of the spares for this Rover are easily available, exceptions are the radiator (recore it if it goes bad- this one is still ok!), and a few bits on the axles. There is a huge following for these Stage One's in the UK and Europe, and a great network of support and advice.
Be the hit at the next Rover rally, and beat everyone down to the pub.
Call for full details, this Rover is expected to arrive the week of 05/01.
